This curriculum helps students explore career pathways across North Carolina’s top industries—including healthcare, information technology, energy, logistics, and advanced manufacturing. Elementary learners enjoy imaginative activities such as designing a career hat, exploring community helper roles, and creating a mini resume. Middle and high school students advance to job applications, workplace soft skills roleplays, business plan pitches (like the Shoe Design Activity), and career research tied to NC’s Career Clusters framework. Every lesson supports NC standards and Career Development goals, with built-in differentiation such as interviews, goal-setting journals, and extension projects like “A Day in the Life of a Career in North Carolina.” Students practice communication, collaboration, and creativity, aligning directly with the Portrait of a Graduate competencies. The full bundle includes enrichment tools such as certificates, career affirmations, student checklists, and optional extensions that connect classroom learning to North Carolina’s workforce needs.
